A graduate of Arizona State University West, Scott Kies joined Heinfeld, Meech & Co., P.C. in 1999.  Scott is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA), Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), and the GFOAz.  In addition, Scott is a member of the Private Companies Practices Section Executive Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Scott's active involvement in the profession has included speaking professionally on various accounting and compliance related issues at conferences and workshops sponsored by our firm, the Association of School Business Officials International, Arizona ASBO, Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Scott has coordinated the consulting services provided by Heinfeld, Meech & Co., P.C. since January 2002.  While a member of our audit team, Scott participated in audits for school districts, charter schools, colleges, counties and other governmental agencies.  In addition, Scott has extensive experience with professional consulting and financial managerial services, including the following:

  • Management Advisory Services to numerous governments and school districts
  • Capital Assets compilation and review services
  • Cash Reconciliations
  • Implementation of GASB Statement No. 34
  • Special investigations and reviews for governments and schools
  • Budgetary reviews and recommendations
  • Fair Labor Standards Act compliance
  • Investigations of fraudulent activities
  • Assistance with compliance with the Uniform System of Financial Records (USFR), including student activities and auxiliary operations, procurement and ADM
  • Preparation of financial statements and the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
  • Supervises the reviews of CAFRs for the Association of School Business Officials International’s (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence program and serves as official technical consultant for the program
