Seeing a demand for quality accounting and auditing services for schools, other governmental entities, associations and nonprofit organizations, Gary Heinfeld formed Heinfeld, Meech & Co., P.C. with Nancy Meech in 1986. His objective was simple: Provide exceptional service to a tightly defined niche by offering essential and supplemental services that meet the needs of the client.
Gary has significant experience working in governmental accounting and auditing, which includes eleven years with the Arizona Office of the Auditor General in addition to his time with Heinfeld, Meech & Co., P.C. A 1975 graduate of the University of Arizona, he became a Certified Public Accountant in 1979 and has also earned the designation of Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
Gary is active in many programs that strengthen financial reporting and management in school districts and other governmental entities. You will find him conducting seminars, participating in committees and reviewing technical materials for various organizations locally and nationally.

- Presented Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Programs at AASBO workshops, ASBO International Annual Conferences, and at the ASCPA Governmental Accounting Conference
- Authored three chapters and one appendix of ASBO International's GASB Statement 34 Implementation Recommendations for School Districts (first edition)
- Revised second edition of ASBO International's GASB Statement 34 Implementation Recommendations for School Districts, including two new chapters and one new appendix
- Authored Financial Reporting Under GASB 34 and ASBO International Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting
- Recipient of the Member of the Year Award from the Arizona ASBO
