Our firm has prepared more than 2,500 audits for governments and non-profit organizations since 1986. Our client roster has included municipalities, school districts, non-profit organizations (NPOs), professional associations, service organizations, foundations, charter schools, state entities, special districts, fire districts, counties, colleges, grant schools, private schools, insurance trusts, special districts and courts.
To better serve our clients, we created a division specifically dedicated to providing consulting, accounting and managerial advisory services to governments and not-for-profit (NPO) organizations in 2002. In 2006, we became approved system reviewers for the AICPA's Peer Review program.
In 2009, we joined AGN International,a worldwide association of separate and independent accounting and consulting firms. As a member of AGN, we have access to a large worldwide network of resources to ensure that our staff has the best, most current information to assist our governmental and non-profit clients, while maintaining our firm's independence and local ownership.

- Heinfeld, Meech & Co., P.C. is a properly licensed Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm and is recognized by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA), the Arizona State Board of Accountancy, and the New Mexico Public Accountancy Board.
- Our firm has procedures in place to ensure that we meet the independence standards of the Government Auditing Standards (GAS) before engaging a client.
- We have no record of substandard work since the founding of our firm in 1986. Our reports and working papers have successfully passed the desk and working paper reviews performed by the Auditor General's Office, the Arizona Department of Education, and the AICPA review team.
- Our quality control for the accounting and auditing practice was reviewed for the year ended May 31, 2009. An unqualified report was issued August 14, 2009, by the firm of Teaman, Ramirez & Smith, Inc. (Copy of Peer Review Report) As our firm received a rating of pass, no deficiencies were noted. In addition, no letters of comments were issued for our previous reviews for the years ended May 31, 2006, 2003, 2000, 1997, 1994, and 1990, as well. The quality control review included all audits performed by Heinfeld, Meech & Co., P.C., with an in-depth review of the working papers and reports.
- All auditors meet the continuing education requirements of GAS and the AICPA. Our auditors receive at least 80 hours of continuing education every two years. Professionals who conduct a substantial portion of the field work or reporting on the audit attend and complete at least 24 hours of continuing education in subjects directly related to governmental auditing and accounting every two years.

- Corey Arvizu serves as the Chair of the Executive Committee of the AICPA's Governmental Audit Quality Center.
- Scott Kies is a member of the Private Companies Practices Section Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
- Corey Arvizu is a Special Review Committee Member for the GFOA's certificate program.
- Three of our partners, Corey Arvizu, Jennifer Shields and Kera Badalamenti, are approved system reviewers for the AICPA's Peer Review Program.
